Our Legacy: The Story of Riccotti’s in Bristol, RI

In the late 1960s, a group of passionate individuals in southern New England embarked on a mission to bring exceptional sandwiches to their communities. Among them was my grandfather, a visionary committed to quality and service. Together, the group founded Riccotti’s, opening dozens of sandwich shops across the region.

Today, over 50 years later, four Riccotti’s locations endure, each independently owned and operated. Among them stands Les’ Riccotti’s of Bristol, founded in 1971 by Les and Joanne Hubbard, my grandparents. After 3 decades of operating the store, they handed the reigns over to my mother, who continued to grow the reputation and stayed true to the path set before her. Now, as the third generation, I continue our family’s legacy. Riccotti’s remains dedicated to delivering the finest subs in the state.

Our commitment to excellence has earned us numerous accolades, including “Best of Rhode Island,” “Best of East Bay,” and “Critics Choice” awards for the best Italian grinder in the state. But what we’re most proud of is serving our community for over half a century and fostering hundreds of careers for our remarkable team in Bristol.
